statement:

At the heart of human experience, absence often precedes presence; it functions as a backdrop upon which meaning is revealed. The pearl and the candle—two simple yet symbolically charged objects—embody this metaphysical tension. The pearl is born out of trauma, transforming pain into beauty, lack into essence. The candle, with its flame, suggests not presence but its trace—a silent invocation—a hope. Both objects become vessels of the unspoken, expressing the human need to give form to the intangible and to transmute absence into presence.
