statement:

This series of works explores the tension of absence and presence through transformed second-hand pieces found in flea markets. These forgotten adornments, once intimate to someone, now carry traces of lost stories and silent histories. I embroider each object with punch needle coton thread and delicate white silicone flowers—symbols of both fragility and permanence. The soft embroidery reactivates the piece through touch, while the white silicone blooms evoke ghostly preservation, like memories suspended in time. This fusion of old and new materials creates poetic contrasts: presence in absence, growth in decay, remembrance in neglect. Through this process, I honour overlooked objects and question what it means to preserve, embellish, and carry the unseen layers of human experience.
