statement:

I am fascinated about airplanes. Airplanes symbolize freedom and transformation. Flight is a metaphor for our imagination and gives us a sense of changes in our boundaries and perspective. Taking off expresses the desire for liberation and the beginning of a new era. On the other hand landing indicates the need for grounding and presence. Airplanes create an imaginary state of presence and absence. I create a series of jewelry using the shape of an airplane. The materials I use are steel, leather and thread. I cut steel by hand and sew it with thread to leather. I repeat the same shape to emphasize and explore the meaning of mobility and change.
