6 meetings – 1 online + 5 in-person
Online: Friday, September 25, 2026
In Person: Wednesday, October 14 – Sunday, October 18, 2026
Total Duration: 26 Hours
Registration Deadline: September 1, 2026
General Description
During this workshop, you will explore the idea of containment through beadwork, discovering how beads can become a powerful medium for both making and expressing ideas. The journey begins with an online introduction, where you will be introduced to the theme through inspiring examples of ancient and contemporary beadwork. This gives you time to reflect, research, and experiment with techniques before we meet in Athens.
When we meet, you will be invited to interpret the theme in your own way—by covering, enclosing, protecting, concealing, or preserving ideas, memories, and even three-dimensional objects. Through demonstrations, discussion, and individual guidance, you will develop your own unique piece while exploring beadwork as a contemporary artistic language for personal expression and creative experimentation.
