Deimante Kiesute - Lithuania

bio:

I am a Lithuanian based jewelry artist Deimantė Kiesutė. I have been creating jewelry both consciously and intuitively since childhood. In 2018, I began my formal studies at the Vilnius Academy of Arts, Telšiai Faculty, Lithuania where I also started participating in various jewelry exhibitions in Lithuania and abroad. During my bachelor’s studies, I took part in the Erasmus exchange program at the Estonian Academy of Arts. I am currently pursuing a master’s degree in applied arts and completing another Erasmus exchange at Trier University, campus Idar-Oberstein. My creative practice is deeply rooted in self-exploration and surrounding environment. I believe that by understanding myself, I can connect with others because we all share universal human experiences.

statement:

I am an observer, drawn to the unnoticed corners of everyday life. I walk, I look, and I wonder what if I were an object? In these works, I try to embody myself in the things I encounter. Lately, I’ve been inspired by discarded zip ties objects once meant to hold and restrain, now lying forgotten in the streets. They speak of past moments, fleeting purposes, and quiet traces of human presence. For me, they become symbols of transience and stories waiting to be noticed.
